During our recent residency at Schloss Bröllin we shot an invitation video in German sign language, with German spoken language surtitles.

Our new play for young people from 12 years up is called Schattenkompass. (Shadow compass)
It is a relaxed performance...
Mi and Mo are not in a good mood.
When they want to hide from everything, the unbelievable happens: they end up in a new, completely strange world.
And they are not the only ones.
How did this happen and why is it so dark there?
Mi, Mo and the others make their way through a bizarre world that is not so easy to find their way out of.
The new play by Leute wie die creates a shared space for young people and adults to explore the topics of mental health and depression.
The play can be experienced by a deaf and hearing audience together.
In the video are two deaf performers Dana Cermane and Pia Katharina Jendreizik.
On stage they are joined by two hearing performers: Nadja Duesterberg and Andreas Pfaffenberger.
The play has premiere at Theater Strahl Berlin on 28th November 2024.

Summer holidays over and on we go! Rehearsals for our new theatre production for young audiences Schattenkompass are about to start. From 16-29 September we have a residency at schloss bröllin e.V. in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Artistic tools for accessible aesthetics
In June, Declan, Brice and Pia will spend four weeks at theater wrede+ in Oldenburg together with the artist and activist Fia Neises. They want to explore how deaf, blind and visually impaired, hearing and sighted artists and their audiences can come together.

The rehearsals in Münster have started! We are looking forward to working with our new colleagues: Adriane Große and Konstantin Buchholz will be on stage together with Pia. And, of course, to working with the team from the Junges Theater Münster.
Premiere is on 19.04. in the STUDIO of Theater Münster. Ticket sales have already started!

Back on the road!
We are going on tour again with "Ich bin Pinguin" to the Biennale Sztuki dla Dziecka in Poznan (Poland). Wera and Pia are also giving a workshop on deaf dramaturgy!

As part of the project PERSPEKTIV:WECHSEL, we were able to spend one week together with our colleagues from CHICKS* in Berlin: getting to know other ways of working, workshops, exchanges and lots of time together.

We have been awarded the Vera Gerdau Prize for the support of inclusive projects in the theatre for young audiences! The award ceremony took place as part of the Augenblick mal! Festival 2023 in Berlin.

In June, we were all at Spurensuche – das Arbeits-Festival der Freien Kinder- und Jugendtheater: We showed Ich bin Pinguin and we were able to invite another group to present their work: Venus Boys, a Berlin drag collective.
